Frequently Asked Questions
1. Design & Artwork
What are the artwork requirements for my design?
For the best possible print quality, we recommend uploading a high-resolution file (300 DPI) with a transparent background, saved as a PNG. We also happily accept vector files like AI, EPS, PDF and SVG. While we can work with many file types, low-quality images taken from the web will likely result in a blurry print.
What if my design is blurry or low-quality?
A blurry source file leads to a blurry print. We can recommend our “Fix Low Quality Design” service, where our experts manually enhance your image to make it print-perfect. Our goal is to ensure you love the final product.
Can I print on sleeves or other locations?
Yes. While our online designer shows the standard Full Front and Full Back options, we can often accommodate custom placements. If you require a print on a different location—such as a small logo on the left chest, a design on a sleeve, or a specific vertical position—please describe your request in detail in the “Add Notes” section before adding the item to your cart.
For example, you could write: “Please print this design as a 4-inch wide logo on the left chest.” Our design team will review your note and follow your instructions to the best of their ability,
The color of the shirt looks slightly different from the picture online. Why?
We do our best to represent garment colors accurately on our website. However, due to variations in monitor calibration and screen settings, the physical color may vary slightly from what you see on your screen.
2. Ordering & Products
Is there a minimum order quantity?
For most of our custom apparel, including all t-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts, there is no minimum order quantity. You can order just one! A few specialty items may require a minimum, which will always be clearly displayed on the product page before you order.
How is the price of my order calculated?
Your price is based on three simple factors:
- The specific garment you choose (e.g., a premium hoodie vs. a standard tee).
- The total quantity of items. We offer automatic volume discounts—the more you order, the lower your price per item.
- The number of print locations (e.g., front print only, or prints on the front and back).
I have multiple designs. How do I place my order?
Each unique design needs to be configured and added to the cart as a separate line item. For example, if you want 10 shirts with “Design A” and 5 shirts with “Design B,” you would first set up the product for “Design A,” add 10 to your cart, and then return to the product page to configure and add the 5 items for “Design B.”
Can I order a sample?
Of course. Since we have no minimums on the most of our apparel, you can simply place an order for a single item to see and feel the quality of our products and printing before committing to a larger purchase.
I'm ordering for a large group or company. Can you help?
Yes, absolutely! We love working with businesses, teams, and groups for events. We offer significant volume discounts that are automatically applied in your cart as the quantity increases. If you have a very large or complex order, please feel free to contact us directly for a personalized quote and assistance.
What printing technology do you use?
We specialize in state-of-the-art DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing. This technology allows us to produce incredibly vibrant, full-color designs with sharp details. The prints are soft to the touch, flexible, and extremely durable, ensuring your custom apparel looks and feels amazing, wash after wash.
What happens if the garment color or size I want is out of stock?
While we maintain a large inventory, supply chain issues can occasionally cause items to be temporarily unavailable. If a product you ordered is out of stock, our team will contact you immediately with alternative options, such as a comparable or higher-quality brand in a similar color, or provide an estimated restock date.
Can I provide my own shirt or garment to be printed on?
For quality control and to guarantee a durable, high-quality print, we do not offer printing services on customer-supplied garments. All of our printed apparel is sourced from our curated catalog of items that we have tested and confirmed are ideal for our technology.
However, we offer a perfect alternative if you wish to use your own apparel: you can order your design as a ready-to-press DTF Transfer. This gives you the flexibility to apply our professional, vibrant prints onto any garment you choose using your own heat press. You can find this option in our DTF Transfers section.
How do I choose the right size?
We know sizing can be tricky! Every product page on our site includes a detailed sizing chart with specific garment measurements. For the most accurate fit, we strongly recommend measuring a t-shirt you already own that fits you well, and comparing its measurements to our chart.
Can you explain the difference between a "Gildan Softstyle" and a "Bella+Canvas" shirt?
Certainly. A Gildan 64000 Softstyle is a great all-around choice, known for its softness and classic fit, offering excellent value.
A Bella+Canvas 3001 tee is a more premium option, typically made with softer, ring-spun cotton and featuring a more modern, fashionable, side-seamed fit. Both are excellent choices for DTF printing.
How should I wash my custom apparel?
To keep your print looking its best for as long as possible, we recommend you follow these care instructions:
Wash inside out using cold water.
Tumble dry on a low heat setting or, for best results, hang to dry.
Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.
Do not iron directly on the printed area.
3. Shipping & Policies
Can I change or cancel my order after it's placed?
If you need to change or cancel an order, please contact our support team as soon as possible. If your order has not yet entered our production queue, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Once an order is in production, we are unable to make any changes or cancellations.
Where do you ship from and do you offer local pickup?
All of our products are printed and shipped from our facility in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. At this time, we do not offer a local pickup option, but we provide reliable shipping services across Canada and the USA to get your order to you.
Do you ship to the USA?
Yes, we ship to both Canada and the United States. Please note that for orders shipping to the USA, the recipient is responsible for any customs duties or import fees that may be applied by the border agency.
What is your return policy & satisfaction guarantee?
Since every item is custom-printed on-demand just for you, we cannot accept returns for customer errors such as ordering the wrong size. However, we stand behind our quality and will always make it right if your order has a manufacturing defect or a clear printing error on our part. For detailed information on what qualifies and how to make a claim, please review our full Return Policy page.
4. DTF Transfers - Technical Questions
What is a DTF Gang Sheet?
A DTF gang sheet is a single large transfer film that contains multiple designs printed together. This method is highly cost-effective because it optimizes the use of the film, allowing you to fit several different images on one sheet, which is ideal for businesses producing various designs at once.
Are there any design limitations with DTF printing?
DTF is incredibly versatile, but for the best results, we recommend avoiding designs with very fine, thin, isolated lines (smaller than 0.02 inches) as they may not transfer cleanly. Effects like semi-transparent glows or smoke can also be challenging to reproduce perfectly.
How should I prepare my garment before pressing?
Before applying the transfer, you should pre-press the garment in the heat press for 5 seconds. This crucial step removes any moisture and wrinkles from the fabric, creating a flat, ideal surface for a strong and lasting transfer adhesion.
Can I use a regular home iron to apply DTF transfers?
For professional and durable results, a heat press is strongly recommended. While it is technically possible to use a home iron, it presents challenges that can affect the quality and longevity of the print. The main issue is that a household iron cannot provide the consistent temperature and, more importantly, the firm, even pressure across the entire design that is required for the adhesive to bond properly with the fabric. This lack of adequate pressure is a common cause of application failure, which can lead to the transfer peeling or cracking after only a few washes. To ensure a reliable application and achieve the full durability our transfers offer, a heat press is the essential tool.
What's the difference between hot peel and cold peel films?
Hot peel films are designed to be removed immediately after the heat press opens, while the garment is still hot. Cold peel films require the transfer to cool down completely before the film is removed. Hot peel is generally faster and often results in a softer feel, while cold peel can sometimes produce a glossier finish.
Can DTF transfers be stored for later use?
Yes, one of the advantages of DTF is that printed transfers can be stored for months without losing quality. They should be kept in a cool, dry place, ideally in an airtight container, to protect them from moisture and dust.
Why are my transfers cracking after washing?
Cracking after washing is often due to incorrect application settings (temperature or pressure was too low) or improper washing methods. Always wash DTF garments in cold water on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, inside-out and avoid bleach or fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low or hang to dry. Never iron directly on the print.
Why isn't my transfer sticking to the shirt?
This is a common application issue usually caused by one of three things: the heat press temperature is too low, the pressure is insufficient, or the pressing time is too short. It can also happen if there is moisture in the garment, which is why pre-pressing is essential.
What causes the colors in my print to look dull or faded after pressing?
Dull or faded colors can be caused by incorrect heat press settings, such as the temperature being too low. It can also stem from the design file itself; if an RGB file is used instead of CMYK, color shifts can occur during printing.
Can I print on hats and other non-flat items?
Yes, DTF is very versatile and can be applied to items like hats, bags, and more. However, applying transfers to these items often requires specialized heat presses or different-sized platens to ensure even pressure across the curved or uneven surface.
Do I need to pre-treat fabrics for DTF printing?
No, pre-treatment of the fabric is not required for DTF. This is a significant advantage over DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printing, which requires a pre-treatment solution, especially for dark garments. This makes the DTF process faster and more versatile.
What causes a "ghosting" or double image effect on my print?
“Ghosting” occurs when the transfer film shifts slightly during the heat pressing process, creating a faint, shadow-like second image. To prevent this, ensure the garment is flat and secure the transfer film in place with heat-resistant tape before pressing.
What happens if I over-press a DTF transfer?
Over-pressing (using too much heat or time) can damage the transfer. It can cause the adhesive to melt excessively and seep out from the edges of the design or bond poorly with the fabric, which can lead to premature fading or peeling.
Can DTF be printed on materials other than fabric?
While primarily designed for textiles, DTF transfers can be applied to other heat-tolerant materials. People have successfully applied them to treated leather, canvas, neoprene, and even wood, though testing is always recommended for non-fabric surfaces.
